Artist statement

Growing up, I’ve always found joy in animation. I grew up wanting to create artwork that could make people happy the same way cartoons made me feel. That’s why as I’ve delved deeper into graphic design, I tend to use bright, saturated colors, thick lines, and simple shapes- elements found within the medium animation. My biggest inspiration is Finnish artist Tove Jansson, known for her creation of Moomin Valley. As someone who was born and raised in many unstable homes in the city of Houston, her fantastical creations have irrevocably changed my brain chemistry in the most positive way. Thus, my goal is to create artwork that brings positive emotions and imaginative playfulness to my audience.
